Veritas Announces CloudPoint 2.0 For Azure Customers; Also Makes It Available for Google Cloud Platform


Veritas Technologies, a cloud-based data management company, has announced CloudPoint 2.0, a snapshot and orchestration management technology that makes use of native Microsoft Azure snapshots. With the addition of comprehensive data protection capabilities, it offers customers completely new ways to replicate, search and classify their data with ease.

CloudPoint 2.0, integrated with Azure, is easy to implement, easy to scale and economical to run. Made from scratch for multi-cloud environments, it offers a high degree of flexibility and also supports a wide selection of workloads based on the next generation cloud. The integration of technology with Azure extends the tactical partnership of Microsoft and Veritas that was forged in 2017. Last year, Veritas also announced new 360 data management capabilities for Veritas and Microsoft Azure customers that included new technology integrations to increase Business continuity and continuity of customers preparing for disaster recovery facilitates the hybrid optimization of cloud storage and dramatically improves the ability of customers to visualize data in different sources.

CloudPoint 2.0, available around the world, offers several key benefits that allow customers to use native cloud snapshot technology for purposes that go beyond mere backup and recovery. These benefits include the ease of finding data, advancing disaster recovery, assistance to ensure compliance, support for popular workloads, and multiple cloud / hybrid cloud environments, etc. It can also be easily implemented in Azure environments directly from the Azure Marketplace.

Veritas has made CloudPoint 2.0 available with a freemium level and two price levels based on an annual subscription model.

The company also announced the availability of CloudPoint 2.0 for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It offers better data protection to Google Cloud native snapshot capabilities, allowing for greater simplicity, greater search capabilities and better protection of new workloads and applications in multi-cloud environments for joint clients. Veritas CloudPoint 2.0 is designed to allow new workloads and applications to be automatically discovered and protected with snapshots immediately after launching through a central panel and in multiple cloud environments.

In addition, with its business-level solution developed natively for the cloud, Veritas adds application consistency to GCP persistent disk snapshots, replication for disaster recovery, indexing for unique file restores and search capabilities First level help customers meet strict global regulatory requirements. Customers will also be able to integrate Veritas NetBackup software with CloudPoint to extend the NetBackup snapshot management capabilities in the data center and support public clouds.
